The Beginning: Yavne Train Station and Preparations

The day starts at Yavne Train Station, where candidates gather and undergo a preliminary medical check-up. From there, buses take the participants to a large area of sand dunes, ranging from small hills to massive ones.

Upon arrival, participants receive their personal number and go through blood pressure and heart rate checks. Once deemed fit, they proceed to a large room, where they wait approximately 30 minutes before the activities begin.

The Screening Run

Participants start with a warm-up run of about 200-240 meters before lining up for a 1-kilometer screening run: 600 meters on asphalt followed by a 400-meter dirt trail. After completing the run, participants eat lunch and prepare for the rest of the day.

This is the first screening point. Those who don’t meet the required standard of 1 km in less than 4 minutes in the run are sent home, while the remaining candidates are divided into groups of 15 for the day’s activities.

The Physical Activities

Activity 1: Combined Crawling

Participants crawl from the starting line to a specific point, pick up a sack, and climb to the top of the dune. There, they circle around a designated box and return to the midpoint to drop the sack. Then they crawl back to the starting line and report how many rounds they’ve completed. The entire activity lasts about 25 minutes.

Activity 2: Sociometric Stretcher

In this classic stretcher drill, participants run to a point marked by the instructor, with the first four to arrive lifting the stretcher for another lap. Meanwhile, others carry jerrycans and continue running. This activity consisted of 16 heats, totaling 32 laps on the dune.

Activity 3: Digging a Pit

Each participant is assigned an area on the dune where they are tasked with digging a hole 1 meter by 1 meter, as deep as possible. They are given an et chafira (a compact IDF digging tool) and 20 minutes to complete the task.

Activity 4: “Tsukonim”

This involves 15 minutes of intense dune running, aiming to complete as many laps as possible in the allotted time.

The Group Activity

The final part of the day includes a group task of carrying a stretcher through a “minefield.” For this exercise, the instructors choose one participant to lead, emphasizing problem-solving and teamwork skills. This is a critical moment for participants to demonstrate leadership and cooperation.

At the end of the day, there is a concluding discussion with the instructors, including a sociometric ranking of the group members.

היום מתחיל ברכבת יבנה, שם מתאספים המועמדים ועוברים בדיקה רפואית ראשונה. משם עולים לאוטובוסים שמובילים לאזור דיונות ענק. האזור מתחלק לדיונות קטנות וגדולות, שמשמשות כזירה לפעילות הפיזית המאתגרת בהמשך היום.

בהגעה, מקבלים מספר אישי, עוברים בדיקות רפואיות בסיסיות, ומקבלים אישור רפואי להמשך היום. לאחר מכן, מתאספים בחדר גדול וממתינים כ-30 דקות עד לתחילת הפעילות.

ריצת סינון

המועמדים מתחממים עם ריצה של כ-200, וממשיכים לריצת סינון באורך קילומטר: 600 מטר על כביש ועוד 400 מטר בשביל כורכר. לאחר הריצה, יש ארוחת צהריים והכנה לקראת המשך היום.

כאן מתבצע הסינון הראשון: מי שלא עמד בדרישה של ריצת קילומטר בפחות מ4 דקות יוצא מהתהליך ו”נשלח הביתה”, בעוד השאר מתחלקים לקבוצות של 15 להמשך היום.

התרגילים

תרגיל 1: זחילות משולבות

זוחלים מקו הזינוק לפס, מרימים שק, עולים לראש הדיונה, מקיפים ארגז, וחוזרים עם השק לנקודת ההתחלה. לאחר מכן זוחלים חזרה לנקודת הזינוק ומדווחים למגבשים על סבב נוסף. התרגיל נמשך כ-25 דקות.

תרגיל 2: אלונקה סוציומטרית

תרגיל קלאסי שבו רצים לנקודה שסימן המדריך. ארבעת הראשונים מרימים אלונקה ומבצעים סיבוב נוסף. כל שאר הקבוצה משתתפת בריצה עם ג’ריקנים. התרגיל נמשך לאורך 16 מקצים (סה”כ 32 סיבובים בדיונה).

תרגיל 3: חפירת בור

לכל משתתף מוקצה שטח חפירה בדיונה. עליהם לחפור בור בעומק ובגודל מטר על מטר תוך 20 דקות, בעזרת את חפירה.

תרגיל 4: “צוקונים”

מתחילים בתרגיל אינטנסיבי של 15 דקות שבו מבצעים כמה שיותר סיבובים במעלה הדיונה.

הפעילות הקבוצתית

החלק האחרון כולל תרגיל קבוצתי להעברת אלונקה בשדה מוקשים. במהלך התרגיל, המדריכים בוחרים חניך להוביל את הקבוצה, מה שמדגיש את יכולותיו המחשבתיות והמנהיגותיות של כל אחד.

בסיום היום מתקיימת שיחה מסכמת עם המגבשים, כולל דירוג סוציומטרי של החברים לקבוצה.

• תצמד להוראות: תבצע בדיוק את מה שהמדריכים מבקשים, בלי “לחשוב מעבר”.
