A look at what we do.

Tzevet Mikey’s mission is to empower and educate the next generation of Lone Soldiers and increase the number of Lone Soldiers who stay in Israel following their service. We provide a wide variety of free activities and programming that help our participants grow physically, socially, mentally, linguistically, and emotionally to prepare them for a meaningful and successful service in the IDF. A positive and successful military service carries over to postmilitary life, and we believe that our actions will help strengthen Jewish communities both in Israel and in the Diaspora.

Lone Soldiers are defined by the army as those that lack support in Israel, and often come from difficult familial, socio-economic, or emotional backgrounds. The number of Lone Soldiers drafting into the IDF each year is constantly increasing; in 2014 there were 5,600 active lone soldiers, today there are over 7,000.

In our pre-army preparation program, run three times a week, exclusively by volunteer former Lone Soldier commanders and special forces veterans, our experienced and highly motivated instructors incorporate their real-world experience into training routines and programming that has been specially developed with the unique needs of our participants in mind. We simulate real-life military conditions, and help participants learn army norms and regulations, improve their Hebrew language skills, increase their combat fitness levels, work on their leadership and teamwork abilities, build confidence in themselves and, most importantly, form a community with a strong sense of camaraderie and brotherhood.

In addition to the free tri-weekly training sessions, Tzevet Mikey offers special events such as grueling special forces tryout simulations, IDF style stretcher hikes, Krav Maga lesson, multi day navigation seminars in the field, nutrition & fitness lessons, subsidized access to a personal trainer, as well as emotional support, mentorship, and advice during and after our participants service in the IDF.

Tzevet Mikey is administered completely by volunteers who are discharged lone soldiers that understand the importance of, and feel a strong desire to, educate and empower future generations. Tzevet Mikey also collaborates with many individuals and organizations to maximize the impact and value our participants gain from the program.
